Yes, only 2 days and 3 nights before my plane takes of from Amsterdam Schiphol to London Heathrow. How exciting is that? Well, for me it is! I depart at 15:00 and arrive at 15:15. How cool is that? ..an web development internship with studios92 which is also internship-uk, an accommodation booking site. Their website looks promising with many internship programmes.

In my previous post I stated that I’ll be staying 6 months as an intern with Studios92. In the meantime I managed to turn that into 1 full year. The division I’ll be an intern is not located in London *sad* but in New Romney (~1.5 hours away from London).

Since I’ll be staying for 1 full year, I don’t need to pay accommodation fees.  Unfortunately I don’t have the luck to have a single room. I’ll be sharing a room with at least one other girl. SO no burping, singing, farting, snoring, walking around naked or any other unacceptable behaviour when others are in the room. Oh help me God!

I am so ready to go…!

…and to experience it the way it is, to meet new people, see the girls and guys, finally hear about my assignment(s). To learn more, to do things together. I especially look forward to the movie nights! I look forward to the moment I arrive in London and to all my trips to London. A good friend I met in cyberspace will pick me up and hopefully we will be spending a lot..and I mean A LOT of time together during my stay in the UK.

What I hope to learn…!

I truly wish to learn a lot during my internship with studios92, like about Microsoft ASP (isn’t this the old version. I thought ASP.NET is the latest) and everything else that is Microsoft related. For some reason I don’t think it will become such a passion as PHP is for me, but we’ll see what MS can do to me. Learn and improve project management skills, better OOP techniques, being more up to date with current technologies, being able to attend events and conferences of topics related to my internship with internship-uk. I also wish to be excellent in writing and speaking British English.

After my internship…?

What happens after my internship with studios92 remains to be seen. I still need to graduate. All I know for now is ..that I don’t care where, but I do know what I want! Hopefully I can find a company in UK or in Utrecht (Holland) to work on my graduation assignment.

I’ll keep you up to date whether you want it or not. As of now I’ll try to write a new blogpost about my none-technical adventures once every 2 to 3 weeks. Technical blogposts will be posted whenever I encounter an issue or something that is totally new to me on my other website.
